Andrews’ collages utilise both recycled materials (wood, Perspex, stainless steel), and what would better be described as “found objects” (cheap mass produced sculptures, obsolete electrical parts, army surplus optical equipment, movie film, meters, plastic figures, doll parts, etc.). These found objects carry with them marks of previous systems, traces of previous use, which when combined produce meanings which are not always intentional, or obvious. The distinction between recycled material and found object is not always clear cut.
